- Draw out opponents clan castle troops. Comment on video: The guy who did the video did not finish the attack. Obviously you want to finish the attack with 3 stars.
- During war only top players should donate. Everyone else can make up the difference during peace time.
- Good troops to put in someones war base clan castle are wizards and dragons. Don’t put weak troops (barbs, archers, wall-breakers, giants, etc.) into castle. Archers are okay if there is 3 or less spaces left.
- During war protect town hall. Your town hall is one star by itself and can be the only difference between a 3 and 2 star attack.
- Center your clan castle. Your reinforcements will be more affective if they are in the midst of your defenses.
- During war storage does not matter. They are not stealing from you but the war bonus loot, so you can safely place your storage outside walls.
- Encircle your main defenses. Put a box of wall around your best defenses, so they are hard to get.
- Place one building like a builder’s hut or barracks in each corner. I have seen many battles come down to the few remaining troops trying to race to the corner and beat the clock. Once again it may be the only difference between a 3 and 2 star attack.
Farming for Loot
- When you are farming use as many cheap troops as you can, but also have a balance too. Archers have good range. Goblins target gold. Giants can take damage while others steal loot. Minions are good when there is no anti-air defenses in the area. All of these cheap troops and more should be a part of a good farming squad.
- Keep a good trophy level. Too high and you will get beat up all the time by people attacking your base. Too low and you will be attacking too many people that don’t have any loot.This farming guide has recommendations for trophy level for town hall level.
- Wait to upgrade your Town Hall. This is the best way to strengthen your defense without costing too much resources. Also there is a loot penalty for attacking lower level bases. If you are the biggest baddest base at your level, you can dominate with no penalties. Note there are benefits to upgrading your town hall with storage, but the are tiny compared to the loot penalty.
- Use Revenge when you can Cons: 1. no bonus loot for winning attack. Pros: 1. you don’t have to pay to attack 2. you can visit and take all the time you need to plan. 3. you can take more from them than the took from you!
